The lake was clear and they had lifeguards. It gave me some comfort knowing that if something happened to my daughter and neice that I wasn't able to get to them that there were extra eyes on them.
Great place for a gathering or to take kids. It's lively without feeling crowded. The lake is well maintained, and the views are beautiful for being so close to downtown Laporte.

This park is really more of a beach area with a surrounding lake area. The beach has a lifeguard, two play sets, restrooms, and tons of parking. Probably the nicest beach in the area aside from going to Lake Michigan. No alcohol or tobacco is allowed in the main family beach area, so you'll want to stay on the far side towards Cummings Lodge for a more adult friendly experience, but have access to all the same amenities.
